The province has appointed Rodney Burgar as the new Chair of WCB Nova Scotia.
Mr. Burgar is an experienced CEO and director with over 30 years in the business and legal sectors. He has served as a director for a number of Crown corporations, including Innovacorp and Waterfront Development, as well as the Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Pension Plan. He is certified as an independent director by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Burgar will take over from Chris Power who has been acting in the position since the departure of Elaine Sibson. Mr. Power will remain on the board as deputy chair.
The appointment is for a five year term with a possibility of re-appointment.
